Courtice Dental – Get the Smile You’ve Always Wanted with Invisalign™

Invisalign™ is an orthodontic treatment that straightens and aligns teeth, and corrects biting issues without the use of metal braces. The device is virtually invisible and, much like a retainer, can be removed anytime. Now, you can finally fix your teeth without all that metal in your mouth!

How Does Invisalign™ Work?

Clear aligners, which are made of flexible thermoplastic material and look like tooth-whitening trays, are custom designed to properly realign your teeth. Throughout the procedure, patients are supplied with multiple aligners designed to gradually move their teeth. For maximum effectiveness, the aligners should be replaced about every two weeks. The length of treatment depends on the individual case; however, the average treatment takes about 12 months.

What Are the Benefits of Invisalign™?

They’re invisible. Unlike braces, which are applied with metal brackets and wires, Invisalign™ is completely i

They’re comfortable. Braces and retainers have a tendency of getting stuck on the sides of your mouth, and irritating your gums. Clear aligners are smooth and soft, and do not put pressure on anything other than your teeth.

They’re removable. With braces and other permanent mouth apparatuses, Advil and freezing gel is sometimes the only way to alleviate pain. Although Invisalign™ aligners should be left in for at least 20 hours per day, the patient can easily remove them when desired. Fortunately, there are no restrictions when it comes to food, as long as the aligners are taken out before each meal.

They’re modern. Before you begin treatment, Invisalign™ allows you to view virtual projected results, so you can see what your teeth will look like at the end.

They’re efficient. A treatment with braces can take as long as five years. Invisalign™ shows results within one year.

How Will Invisalign™ Affect My Day-to-Day Life?

As with any dental insert, clear aligners may cause slight discomfort in the first few hours or days after application. This is normal, and is a sign that your treatment is working properly. It should subside within a day or two. Aligners should be removed prior to eating, chewing gum, smoking, or drinking alcohol or sugary beverages

For Invisalign™ to work effectively, the aligners should be left in overnight. At first, this may feel strange, but within a few days, it will become a normal sensation. The aligners should also be removed while brushing and flossing teeth.
